If you enjoyed the first Cheshire Real Ale Trail in October, you’ll be happy to know we are back this Spring. The full route has now been confirmed and you can visit any of the 8 venues on the Saturday 18th Sept. We can confirm 2 new venues, alongside pubs joining us again.
Microbrewery Cheshire Brewhouse – are joining us with some rather good ales, including with some “Beers from The Wood” which is aged inside barrels. Sample their ales a few meters from where they were brewed.
Rising Sun, Scholar Green – a traditional country pub, known for their great food and real ales. The Rising Sun will be serving Ale Trail special menu to enjoy with your pint.
If you fancy a beer with friends, sampling ales from rural pubs presents ale fans with a major problem: who’s going to do the driving? Not to worry. The award-winning Real Ale Trail will take you by bus to sample some fantastic pubs and one special microbrewery with over 50 local ales to sample, you will surely find something you’re going to like very much.
Festival goers are taken through the lanes of glorious countryside and off the beaten track to reach some of the best pubs in Cheshire selected for their hospitality, rural location and selection of ales. The event picks ale fans up and transports them to the pubs on the trail every half an hour from 11am to 10pm and you can start and finish anywhere on route. Buses arrives every 45ish minutes and circulates around the pubs all day.
If you’re staying for the whole day and why wouldn’t you, finding good food won’t be a problem either as all of the pubs specialise in a great standard of food with Rising Sun & Bulls Head offering special menus to enjoy with your pint.
On the 4th April, the Cheshire Real Ale Trail will visit 7 pubs and one special microbrewery, specially chosen for hospitality, atmosphere and of course their selection of real ales.

Organiser Siwan Jones said ‘The beauty of the trail is you get to enjoy so many different
styles of pubs to enjoy without driving. We visit pubs known for their style, hospitality and their support of local ales. I’m from North Wales originally and having seen the concept work so well there, I was eager to bring it to our area. The Trails are always jolly with a lot of singing on the buses throughout the day.
Tickets are £20 in advance and £22 on the day* (subject to availability). Or you can pop in any of the participating venues for a pint and a ticket.
Ticket holders can start and finish at any venue on route between 11am and 10pm.

We don’t recommend visiting every single venue on route, take you your time, choose a handful of places you want to visit, soak up the atmosphere, sample the local ales and tasty food before moving on, otherwise you’ll spend the whole day travelling on the bus.
