Description:

Date: Saturday 13th Sept  2025 Time: 11am – 9pm

The bongo drums are calling all ale enthusiasts across the Shropshire countryside your tickets for the Shropshire Real Ale Trail are now available! Get ready to explore the best local pubs and unique ales without the worry of driving. Grab your tickets and join us for an unforgettable day of discovery and camaraderie!

How The Trail Works: Get the tickets, jump aboard our buses, which run every 45 minutes to each boozer, and chauffeur you to 8 unique pubs in the charming nooks of Shropshire. There’s no one start point, you start at the pub best for you. Sample a variety of handcrafted ales, eat some food, listen to some music, and get back on the bus to do it all again, no designated driver is needed! It’s the perfect excuse to ‘research‘ local brews and make some questionable decisions you’ll laugh about later.

Shrewsbury start? Tickets for buses starting at at the Salopian Bar sell out super fast, if you want to join, but the seats are taken, do start at another pub.

We are also picking up at Wellington Train Station this year… Whey Hey!

By purchasing tickets you are subject to our Terms & Conditions.

THE TICKET: on purchasing a receipt is sent (probably to your spam), this is not your ‘ticket to ride’. Two weeks before the event your real travel ticket will arrive at the pub you selected on purchase. You’ll need to flash the bartender this receipt with its unique code to swap for your ticket.

You must be 24 or over to attend The Real Ale Trail.
Sorry Stags and Hens this event is not for you.

How Tickets Work

You purchase tickets online and we send the tickets to the pub of your choice to pick up before or on the day of the event. You can start at any of the pubs at any time, (unless you’re starting at the Salopian pub and you have to book your bus because it’s a popular start). We advise an early start if you want to visit all the pubs. The event runs from 11 am to 9 pm and the buses are in 45-minute intervals.

Buses - Here's the caveat sometimes sh*t happens on the roads and the bus is delayed by the odd horse & cart, rogue sheep, BMW drivers, pal that's still in the loo and won't let you leave without him; but the buses always get to you. It must be noted all bus drivers have God-Like-Rock-Star-Status on the day.

Why do we do it?

Because we’re passionate about UK village pubs, and when people stopped drinking and driving  (yes we know how that sounds), they started closing one by one.

So we decided to help. Leave the car at home folks, we know the best pubs, we know logistics and we know people. And boom here we are 12 years later, still eager as a kid on Christmas morning, ready to take you to bloody brilliant boozers. And while big brewery houses monopolise our beer choice, we champion the smaller beer gods and always try for a micto brewery visit too.

Taking the scenic route

Enjoy a day out with friends without needing a designated driver! Our dedicated buses arrive every hour at each pub to pick you up and drop you off between 11 am and 9 pm, giving you the freedom to stay as long or as little in each pub.

Each pub is chosen for its hospitality, atmosphere and, of course selection of Real Ale, usually brewed by local microbreweries such as Salopian, Three Tons Brewery, Ludlow, Wye Valley Hobsons, and Magic Dragon Brewing! Each pub has a minimum of three Real Ales to try, with up to 50 Real Ales available to sample overall, so you may need to go back and try them another day.
