Flintshire only Bus based Real Ale Trail festival featuring 9 rural pubs and 1200 local people returns for its 8th years on Saturday April 29th.

The hugely popular Flintshire Real Ale Trail was disappointedly canceled last year due to the collapse of GHA Coaches, but it’s back this year with a new bus company and a brand new line up of management in every pub.

Flintshire’s much-loved Real Ale Trail transports hundreds of ale enthusiasts from 11am to 11pm to handpicked real ale pubs dotted around the Flintshire countryside by bus to enjoy over 50 real ales and tasty local food without the worry of who is driving.

The RAT Shuttle buses aim to arrive every 45 minutes at each pub and festival goers are free to hop on and off the buses at any pub on route. People usually start at Mold but you can start at any location at any time of the day. You can pick up a Bus tickets for £10 at any participating pub and this gives you unlimited travel all day long.

Llew Jones, a Ruthin based bus company has stepped in as the transport heroes of the Ale Trail providing buses for this year’s festival to the delight of festival goers and landlords. Llew Jones are not the only new faces on the trail with new management and owners at the Gold Cape, The Black Lion, Red Lion, Crooked Horn and the Britannia Inn, which are very excited to bring the Ale Real Trail back with a bang!

‘We are all stoked that Llew Jones has agreed to be our RAT transportation. Unbeknown to most, the Ale Trail is such an important event to Flintshire in terms of economic generation, its knock on effect for pubs, brewers, jobs, B&B, farmers etc is great, so you can imagine how excited we where to secure transport was confirmed. Shelly Barratt, Ale Trail Organiser.

It’s our first Ale Trail in the Black Lion and we can’t wait, we’ve heard so many great stories about the event so we are looking forward to making some of our own says Natalie Walker, Landlady.
